Police: Woman rescued from burning apartment set fire, threatened to kill herself

OKLAHOMA CITY – A few Oklahoma City residents are left without homes after a bizarre series of events overnight.

Oklahoma City Police said authorities rescued a woman from the second story of a burning apartment but they said she was the one who started the fire.

When fire crews arrived at the burning building on Tinker Diagonal St. near E. Reno Ave. they found a woman hanging out of her second floor window.

Authorities said she was threatening to kill herself and had set the apartment on fire after 10 p.m.

The woman police said is responsible was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

Many residents in the complex were evacuated and about 10 are now left homeless.

Officials said most of the units have significant smoke and water damage.

Authorities have not confirmed the charges the woman may be facing.

They have not released her name at this time.
