Popular fantasy author Terry Pratchett dead at 66

LONDON – A popular author of fantasy books has died at the age of 66, according to his publishers.

Terry Pratchett, the well-known author of the Discworld series, died at his home on Thursday.

Larry Finlay, Transworld’s managing director, said, “The world has lost one of its brightest, sharpest minds.”

Pratchett was known for writing more than 70 books, especially those set in the imaginary land of Discworld.

He was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease.
