PURCELL, Okla. (KFOR) – Purcell city officials confirm they are looking into a personnel matter regarding an alleged incident involving the discharging of a weapon inside the police department.

According to the Purcell Register, there was an incident inside the police department involving the discharging of a weapon, possibly involving Police Chief Kevin Williams.

When News 4 called the city manager, Dale Bunn, about the matter and he said it is a personnel matter, it’s being investigated and he cannot comment.

Some residents told News 4 they would like some more answers from the city.

“They should do that and let everybody know,” LaDonna Wartchow said. “It’s scary.”

Other residents told News 4 they understand the city not wanting to comment.

“I can’t blame them. I wouldn’t want to comment either,” Frances Alsup said.

News 4 also called the police chief for comment and we haven’t heard back.
