Ray Rice plans to restart his football career, asking for forgiveness

BALTIMORE, Md. – Former Baltimore Ravens runningback Ray Rice is apologizing for punching his then fiancée in a casino elevator one year ago.

Since the graphic video was released, he has been at the center of a swirling controversy over domestic violence in the NFL.

In a letter published by the Baltimore Sun, Rice is apologizing for disappointing the kids that looked up to him, asking for forgiveness.

He also thanked the people of Baltimore for supporting him.

Rice was arrested for the incident and his contract was terminated after the video of the punch surfaced.

In November, the league reinstated him.

Rice says he plans to move to New York and try it restart his football career.
