CUTLER, Calif. – A company that supplies fruit to retailers across the country has issued a massive recall.
Wawona Packing Company is recalling certain lots of whole peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots because they were potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The products were packed between June 1 through July 12.
The company says they supply stores like Costco, Sam’s Club, BJ’s, Wal-Mart and Trader Joe’s.
Officials say they don’t know where the affected products were shipped, so they are issuing a nationwide recall.
So far, no illnesses have been linked to the products.
Listeria monocytogenes can cause high fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
A Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women.
