OKLAHOMA CITY – A 22-year-old man passed away after being involved in an accident along a busy interstate.

On Wednesday, authorities were called to westbound I-40 just west of Rockwell Ave. in response to an accident.

Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a 2004 Chevy Impala swerved to the right to avoid traffic and drove off the road.

At that point, authorities say the car rolled three times before crossing back onto the interstate.

It came to rest against the inside wall of the highway.

Emergency crews took 22-year-old Kelby Land to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

A report released by the Department of Public Safety indicates the vehicle’s airbags did not deploy in the crash.

The family of the victim has set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for the funeral expenses.
