For the first time in its history, the NFL will have a woman overseeing games as a ref.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Sarah Thomas will start officiating this year.

Thomas started working for Conference USA in 2007 and  became the first woman to officiate a bowl game in 2009.

She then joined the NFL’s officiating Deployment Program, worked some New Orleans Saints’ training camps, and also officiated a NFL preseason game last August.
