SEATTLE, Wash. (KCPQ) – A Washington woman has pleaded guilty to assault after allegedly raping a man while he slept.
Gilman was arrested after she allegedly broke into a man’s home and tried to rape him.
The victim told police he awoke from a deep sleep to find Gilman on top of him and having sexual intercourse with him.
He told police that Gilman told him to be quiet as he tried to push her off of him.
Authorities told KCPQ that Gilman told them that she didn’t know the man and didn’t remember being at his home or having sex with him.
However, court documents said a DNA test showed that Gilman’s DNA had been found on the man’s body.
Last year, Gilman’s lawyer told the judge that she suffers from mental illness and has a history of drug abuse.
The Smoking Gun reports that Gilman will be required to register as a sex offender and is expected to serve nine months in jail.
