Power restored to Quail Springs Mall after “switching cubicle” fire

UPDATE: Power has been restored to Quail Springs Mall and the surround area.

OKLAHOMA CITY – A power company switching cubical caught fire causing Quail Springs Mall and surround customers to lose power.

According to OG&E it is a ‘Switching Cubicle’ that caught fire.

OF& E says the power outage happened at 1:40 p.m. and should power should be restored within two to four hours.

Witnesses report hearing a loud explosion and officials said power is out at the mall but the mall remains open.

According to OG&E, 1349 customers in north Oklahoma City are without power.
