NEW YORK — Former Thunder player Thabo Sefolosha is reportedly planning to sue New York City and eight NYPD officers for up to $50 million.

The lawsuit is in regards to injuries he allegedly received during an arrest outside a Manhattan nightclub in April.
Thabo’s leg was broken during the incident, and he has since recovered. But Sef’s defense lawyer has said “he may not be dunking as much as he was before this happened.”
After the arrest, Sefolosha was found not guilty on all charges, including obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
The Manhattan district attorney’s office made a plea offer before the trial that would have dropped all charges in exchange for a day of community service. But the NBA player decided to fight the charges because he felt the injuries he suffered, which forced him to miss last season’s playoffs, were the result of wrongful arrest.
