LUTHER, Okla. – Deputies with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office are searching for homes for a few abandoned dogs.

On Aug. 11, deputies responded to an animal abuse call in the 21000 block of E. Bowman Rd. in Luther.

According to witnesses, the owner of the dogs decided to move to Oregon and left the animals behind.

When officers found the pets, most appeared to be malnourished and didn’t have any water or food.

In all, seven dogs were taken to Blaze’s Tribute Equine Rescue.

According to the sheriff’s Facebook page, the dogs are being cared for but are in need of permanent homes.

The post claims deputies are planning to file seven felony counts of cruelty to animals against the alleged suspect.
