EDMOND, Okla. – An Edmond woman owes her life to a nurse who was in the right place at the right time.

Leslie Moore says she was on her way home from work when she heard an alarm and smelled smoke.

She approached the home where the smoke was coming from and saw that a door was open.

Inside of the house, she found a woman.

Moore dragged the woman outside to safety.

Heavy flames and smoke were pouring from the home when firefighters arrived.

They were able to extinguish the flames, but say the structure of the home is damaged due to the fire.

Fire crews are glad the nurse was in the right place at the right time.

“In this case it worked out good,” said Battalion Chief Shawn Horn with Edmond Fire.

The woman was taken to a local hospital.  No word on her condition at this time.
