One person killed, another injured in tanker truck collision, fire near Geary

GEARY, Okla. – One driver has been killed and another person has minor injuries after a tanker truck accident that has sparked a fire near Geary Thursday afternoon.

The Blaine County Sheriff’s Department confirmed two large trucks were involved in the accident.

One was a tanker truck carrying an unknown fuel and the other was a smaller truck transporting hydrochloric acid.

The truck carrying fuel is from Hamm and Phillips Service Co.

According to its website, the company provides oilfield transportation services.

The northbound and southbound lanes of US270 are closed about two miles south of Greenfield in Blaine County.

Officials have not said what led to the accident just north of Geary.

The names of those involved have not been released.
