It’s happening again, secret Santa’s are stepping forward to help bring Christmas to some California families.

A toy stash is going under the tree earlier than expected.

Elizabeth Cortez had four items on layaway and owed more than $100 when she got a call from Wal-Mart.

Cortez said, “She says, ‘A Good Samaritan just paid for you.’ I was just surprised.”

She was also surprised to hear the stranger was waiting at layaway, hoping to meet her.

She rushed to the Wal-Mart and met the woman, along with several other people she had helped.

Cortez said, “We were all in tears.”

A manager at the store says the Good Samaritan closed between 10 and 20 accounts, wiping out thousands of dollars owed.

Although she didn’t want attention, she did pose for a photo with some of the families she helped.

Cortez said, “She just did it out of the goodness of her heart. I am very grateful and someway, somehow I am going to pay it forward, as well.”
