Update: Turner Turnpike back open following semi-truck

UPDATE: The Turner Turnpike is back open following an accident with a semi-truck.


JONES, Okla. – Emergency crews were called to an overturned semi on the Turner Turnpike on Thursday afternoon.

Shortly after 3 p.m., officials with the Oklahoma City Fire Department were called to an accident on the turnpike near the Luther-Jones exit.

Initial reports indicate the cab of the truck was on fire, but firefighters were able to put it out.

The truck was said to be hauling produce.

The driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

Eastbound on the Turner Turnpike has only the inside lane open at this time.
