SEMINOLE, Okla. — Several Seminole teachers were put on the chopping block as their temporary contracts came to an end.

Counselors and teachers addressed the board asking why the teachers were not being considered for rehire despite having excellent evaluations and recommendations from both their principal and superintendent.

Teachers tell KFOR they felt they are under personal attack by a board member who disagrees with their views about a previous bond that would include building a new high school.

More than a dozen people addressed the school board in favor of the teachers in question.

The board voted Thursday night on whether or not to re-hire the teachers .

The teachers, though favored by students and the superintendent, were not asked to return.
