ORLANDO, Fla. – A woman is behind bars after allegedly fleeing from police and killing a single father in a car crash.

According to WESH, 27-year-old Syndia Saint Cyr wasn’t even supposed to be on the road Sunday night.

However, investigators spotted Saint Cyr and attempted to pull her over for speeding. When she refused to stop, she ran through a red light and crashed into 23-year-old Cody Garrick’s vehicle.

Garrick had just accepted a job as a pizza delivery driver and was working his first shift.

Authorities say the single father was completing his final delivery of the night when he was hit.

Tragically, he died at the scene.

Officials say Saint Cyr, who only suffered minor injuries, was driving with a suspended license at the time of the crash.

“She ran from the cops before and didn’t get away. And now she’s running again and she killed somebody’s life, and they said she showed no remorse. She got a couple scratches, and my son is gone. I want her to be in jail for the rest of her life,” said Tammy Garrick, Cody’s mother.

Saint Cyr was charged with vehicular homicide and driving with a suspended license.
