RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Cali. — A 14-year-old boy is accused of accidentally shooting his 9-year-old brother to death Saturday.

The shooting happened around 12:10 p.m., according to Deputy Patty Stoyer.

Authorities do not know if parents were present at the time of the shooting.

A neighbor said the boys threw a party the night before, and a gun was fired.

“They were throwing a party, and then it got crazy and I guess they were like doing some gunshots yesterday and they woke up around noon… and then I’m guessing he played around, like, a gun and then he, like, shot him,” neighbor Victor Velosco said.
The 9-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation was underway, but the shooting death was believed to be accidental, Stoyer said.
