Sheriff’s Office warns public of sheriff impersonator

CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. – The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of someone impersonating a sheriff.

The Sheriff’s Office says they have received reports of a male making phone calls and impersonating Sheriff Lester.

The person is “spoofing” the 701-8888 CCSO main line phone number.

According to reports, the impersonator has asked people to wire him money.

Officials say this is a scam and are warning people not to send this person any money.

If you know of anyone that has sent this individual money, please report it to your law enforcement agency immediately.
