Two officers injured after shooting at Del City Walmart

DEL CITY, Okla. – An investigation is underway after a shooting at Walmart in Del City.

It happened shortly after 11 p.m. at the Walmart near SE 15th and Tinker Diagonal.

Police tell News 4 it started when a man was caught shoplifting. The man was then taken to the manager’s office where he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot a Del City police officer and an off-duty officer from another agency.

Details are still being investigated, but the alleged shoplifter was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police officer and security guard were taken to the hospital where they are expected to be OK.

The incident remains under investigation.
