CHICKASHA, Okla. -- A locally owned mom-and-pop restaurant is offering a unique reward to bring a criminal to justice.
Surveillance cameras got a good look at the thief, and the talk around town is her attire.
With two restaurants in town, 'Paw Paw's' has been a Chickasha staple for decades. But that unwelcome guest has left customers upset.
"People work hard for their money, and to just come in here and take it, no morals," said one customer.
"Lazy people, they need to be held accountable," said another.
It was Friday afternoon, during a lull, that a waitress stepped into the kitchen for a few minutes.
"During that time, we noticed that the register was completely emptied," said Dustin Payne, with the restaurant. "A lady had walked in, reached over the counter, emptied the register and walked out."
Now, pictures of this criminal have made their way online.
"We posted on Facebook...it's went pretty widespread," explained Payne. "We anticipate someone will recognize her."
In the comments on their post, a common thread has appeared, discussing the burglars pants...or lack there-of.
She's been called the 'shorty shorts' bandit, now her hot pants are a hot topic in Chickasha.
"I think they're too short, but that's just me," said resident, Vickie Chaney.
"That hiney kinda looks familiar, but I'm not sure," chimed another Paw Paw patron.
Paw Paw's is offering a $100 gift card to anyone that can help track her down.
"There are people out there that could harm your business," said Payne. "In small businesses, small communities, it's a big deal."
Chickasha Police tell NewsChannel 4 their investigation continues.
