EDMOND, Okla. – A silver alert was canceled several hours after it was issued for an Edmond man who had not been seen since Thursday evening.

The Edmond Police Department issued a silver alert for 63-year-old William Blackwell.

Investigators say Blackwell was last seen in the 2200 block of S. Broadway Ave. around 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Authorities say they were concerned about Blackwell’s safety since he suffers from advanced COPD and was last seen with only two oxygen tanks. They say that would only give him about six to seven hours of oxygen.

On Friday afternoon, police canceled the silver alert after Blackwell was found.

Officials did not say much about his condition, but say he is safe.
