CUSHING, Okla. — The President’s visit heaped a whole lot of attention on the tiny town of Cushing. The lunch rush at Naifeh’s restaurant gave him rave reviews. Helen Naifeh says, “I thought it was great.” Customer Rodger Floyd says, “We actually saw him wave at us. Of course he was waiving at everybody so it’s not, well it is a big deal.”

Some were disappointed his trip was short.

Helen Naifeh says, “We walked up to the corner and we got to see him drive by but it would have really been fun to have him stop and have a few minutes to mix with some of the local people.”

Others were just glad to have him in the state at all.

Diana Young says, “Just to get a glimpse of his car was very meaningful.”

Young and many others liked Pres. Obama’s message, building the Southern portion of the Keystone Pipeline is a priority.

Young says, “We all drive cars. We need the oil and I think he’s going to come through for us. I really do, but he’s going to check everything out and that’s very respectful for everyone.”
