WEATHERFORD, OK-A fraternity in southwestern Oklahoma is finding creative ways to raise money for their philanthropy, St. Jude’s.

Last year, the frat had a sitting marathon and this year, their stand out fundraiser involves jumping up and down.

Tau Kappa Epsilon at Southwestern Oklahoma State consists of 48 guys all jumping on this trampoline for 80 hours straight for one reason, St. Jude’s.

"Giving to kids and just trying to give them a better life and hope, it's just a great thing," said Tanner Miller, a frat brother.
The mission behind St. Jude’s is to find cures for children with cancer and other life threatening diseases through research and treatment.

Through Jumping, the plan for TKE is to raise money and awareness for St. Jude’s, by manning a trampoline, set up in the parking lot of Southwestern Oklahoma State, for 80 hours straight, alternating shifts every half hour.

The task is not easy.

However, it is a more fun way to approach asking for money for a good cause, rather than going door-to-door.

"People know we're here all week and whether they're going to lunch or going to class they just swing by and voluntarily give and that's a lot easier for us and them said Miller.

Making every bounce count and raising money for a child in need.
"Jumping for three hours doesn't seem like a big deal but every little bit helps," said Lucas Coody, a TKE frat brother.

The will be jumping until 6 p.m. on Thursday.

TKE'S fundraising goal is to raise $3,000.00.

If interested in making a donation, a check can be written to St. Jude’s and mailed to TKE at 408 N. 4th Street, Weatherford, OK 73096.
