OKLAHOMA – Love to garden? Here’s your change to get out there and practice your gardening skills.

The Oklahoma County Master Gardeners will hold their “Third Thursday” How-to gardening workshop, Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the OSU Cooperative Extension Service with a focus on “Pruning.”

“This is a great workshop for people to learn proper pruning techniques for the ornamental trees and shrubs in our landscapes,” commented Ray Ridlen, Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Horticulture Educator.

The proper timing of when to prune will also be discussed.  “Proper timing of pruning is very important especially on our flowering trees and shrubs,” stated Ridlen.  Also, since October is right around the corner and great month to plant trees and shrubs, proper planting and maintenance will be covered.

Next month the “Third Thursday” is October 16th, and will feature “Winterizing – Putting your Garden to Bed.

All horticulture seminars and workshops taught by the Oklahoma County Master Gardeners are offered free to the public.
