PLACENTIA, Calif. – Students in California found their teacher hanging inside of a classroom on Monday.

The 31-year-old teacher, Jillian Jacobson, was found at El Dorado High School, according to KTLA.

The door was locked when students arrived for their first-period class.  After another teacher came to let them in, the students found their teacher hanging in the classroom.

Staff members brought her down to the ground.

Officials told KTLA that attempts were made to revive the teacher, but were unsuccessful.

Jacobson was declared dead at the scene.

Although no suicide note was left, at this time officials believe the teacher killed herself.

According to KTLA, Jacobson was a photography teacher who had been at the school for about 10 years.  She was a popular teacher who had close friends among the faculty.

Students were released early because of the incident.
