A new study shows adding energy drinks to alcoholic beverages may increase the urge to drink.

Australian researchers had 75 adults consume either an alcohol-only drink, or one that combined alcohol with Red Bull.

They found people who were given the energy drink reported an increased desire to keep drinking, compared to people who had alcohol alone.

However, researchers can’t say this translates into people drinking more.

They also say people who binge drink may prefer beverages that have energy drinks incorporated.
