SHAWNEE, Okla. – While the summer heat may be taking a toll on your cooling bills, state officials say it is also taking a toll on some roads.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation posted a photo on Wednesday of State Hwy 18 near Shawnee.

Officials say southbound Hwy 18 had to be narrowed near I-40 in Shawnee due to heat-related pavement damage.
