MOORE, Okla. — At Moore Liquor, you should smile because you’re always on camera.
“Most people know Moore Liquor is not the smartest place to shoplift,” said owner Bryan Kerr.
Over the years, Kerr has identified half a dozen or so shoplifters on camera by posting them on his Facebook page.
Some have been prosecuted. In other cases, he’s accepted an apology.
He’s now caught another.
“He really did not know what he was doing. Even though he may be a regular thief, he is clearly not a regular thief of two big bottles of liquor,” said Kerr.
The latest sticky fingers went first for a bottle of Hpnotiq (sic).
The video shows the shoplifter then reaching for a bottle of Three Olives Loopy Vodka.
But he realizes he doesn’t have enough room down his pants. He has to fish the Hpnotiq out, which slid all the way down his pants leg, reposition it and then put the other bottle back in.
Then he calmly walks out.
“He was walking fairly normal, so he must’ve gotten the bottle situated just right,” said Kerr.
Kerr took to Facebook and several people identified the shoplifter. Kerr sent a message to a girl identified as the suspect’s girlfriend.
She actually sent a message back saying, “No disrespect or anything. But teenagers steal, especially from liquor stores, why are you tryna bust this kid?”
Kerr says he plans to prosecute the criminal, no apologies accepted this time.
“Hopefully he enjoyed whatever he stole because it’s going to end up costing him a lot more than what it would’ve been had he just paid for it,” said Kerr.
Kerr has contacted the Moore Police Department and says it’s only a matter of time before the suspect is arrested.
