OKLAHOMA CITY - An Enid man was jailed in Oklahoma City this weekend on a charge of maiming, accused of biting part of another man’s lip off.

Ralfael Chubbs was arrested early Sunday morning at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Northwest Expressway.

Chubbs and the victim work together in Enid but were in the city for a birthday party.

When police arrived, they found the victim in the lobby, covered in blood.

According to the report, he was “missing a large chunk from his upper left lip.”

He told police he’d gotten into a fight with his co-worker in a hotel room.

“Got into this altercation and, during it, he was bit on the lip, and this guy actually took off part of the man’s lip and assaulted him in various other ways across his face and body,” said Officer Megan Morgan with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Police went to the hotel room where they found the suspect.

According to the report, he appeared to be heavily intoxicated and would not tell the officers anything about what happened.

But, officers saw “blood splattered on the white comforters on both beds in the room as well as blood on the walls and door frame to the bathroom.

One of the officers noticed a “bloody piece of brown, human flesh lying on the hallway carpet.”

It turned out to be a part of the victim’s lip.

Officers turned it over to EMSA paramedics who took it to the hospital to see if it could be reattached.

Police arrested Chubbs on a felony charge of maiming.

“Maiming is a felony assault charge that is involved when somebody is disfigured by an assault,” Morgan said.

The victim tells NewsChannel 4 he is permanently scarred and scared for his life.

He said doctors were not able to reattach his lip, the suspect also bit him in the eye area and he had to get stitches there as well.
