LAWTON, Okla. – Lawton police said one man has been hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting in the southwestern Oklahoma city.

Television station KSWO reports the shooting occurred shortly after midnight Sunday on the city’s south side. One suspect was wounded in the shooting and was hospitalized in stable condition. Authorities have not identified the suspect.

The police officer involved in the shooting was not injured. The officer has not been identified.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available. Lawton police said the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been asked to investigate the shooting.
