Suspect tries to run away after high-speed chase

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City police were involved in a high-speed chase Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m., police were in pursuit of a vehicle near southwest 54th street and Douglass.

Initial reports indicate the suspect crashed into another vehicle shortly after the chase started.

According to scanner traffic, after crashing the vehicle, the suspect got out and attempted to run away.

Officials caught up to the suspect and arrested them.

Traffic in the area may be backed up until officials can clear the scene.
