OKLAHOMA CITY – Police are on scene investigating what caused one man to flee a local church parking lot and lead police on a high-speed chase Saturday night.

Police responded to a call about suspicious activity in the 1800 block of S High Ave. just before midnight.

When officers arrived, a white male in a blue shirt took off in a maroon van with a trailer, according to police.  Officers started a pursuit.

The suspect reached speeds close to 90mph at one point during the chase.

According to scanner traffic, the chase wound its way on to multiple city streets and even onto I-35 at one point.

Police say the suspect bailed out of the vehicle around the 800 block of SE 67th St., leading them on a short foot chase.

That suspect is now in custody.
