TECUMSEH, Okla.– A threat made against Tecumseh High School prompted a lockdown on Friday.

The superintendent says a student was sent a threat in an electronic message by someone who was not a student and didn’t live in the district or Pottawatomie County.

Law enforcement took that threat seriously but confirms an 18-year-old suspect is in custody and the lockdown has been lifted.

Police say the suspect threatened a female student and the principal.

The suspect was never on school grounds.
