OKLAHOMA CITY  –

A teenager involved in a motorcycle chase through the streets of Edmond passed away Friday evening.

Tyler Wood, 17, of Luther, was pronounced dead  at OU Medical Center after suffering critical injuries from the crash Thursday, officials said.

Wood was thrown off his motorcycle more than 50-feet after he tried to move through a busy Edmond intersection at Edmond Road and Kelly.

“The westbound traffic was stopped, so he went in between cars. He came through the intersection and hit a car head-on that had the green turn light,” said Jennifer Wagnon, a police spokeswoman.
