PHILADELPHIA, Penn. – Police in Philadelphia released disturbing video, hoping that an alleged kidnapper would be caught and a missing woman would be found.
Authorities say a man grabbed 22-year-old Carlesha Freeland-Gaither before 10 p.m. on Sunday night.
A witness reported that Freeland-Gaither screamed for help and tried to get away from her abductor before being forced into a car.
Just before the vehicle pulled away, she was able to break out the driver and passenger side rear windows.
Her glasses and cell phone dropped onto the road.
Investigators say it is clear that Freeland-Gaither did not know her abductor.
“Please just send her back home,” Freeland-Gaither’s father told CBS Philly. “Just let my daughter go. Whatever you want, whatever you’re asking for, I’ll give it to you.”
Philadelphia officials have approved a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
