An online petition already has 300,000 signatures protesting the death of a 17-year-old gorilla.

The gorilla was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo after it grabbed a young boy who had fallen into its enclosure.

The petition calls for the boy’s parents to be held ultimately responsible for the gorilla’s death because they did not keep a closer watch on their son.
