A man is in jail after escaping his bondsman, stealing the bondsman’s car, and leading police on a high speed chase.

Purcell police tell us the man thought he had made a clean getaway and didn’t give as second thought about a cell phone the bondsman had left in the car’s front seat.

Police were able to track that phone right to the escapee and the stolen car and the chase was on, reaching speeds of up to 115 MPH before the suspect finally crashed between Purcell and Norman.

According to an officer on the scene, the vehicle flew off an off-ramp and landed in a fence.

The man then bailed out of the car and took off on foot before being caught a short time later.

He was treated for his injuries on the scene and taken to jail.
