OKLAHOMA CITY - Police are looking for two people caught on camera stealing a battery and vandalizing a daycare vehicle.

Photos of the suspects, a white man and woman, were released by police after being spotted on surveillance cameras from Love to Learn daycare, located at 5808 S. Pennsylvania on December 2.

"Come out, get it started and – no cranking," said the daycare's owner, Kenyetta Richard, when she tried to start the van on December 4. "So, of course, the first thing I thought, we left the lights on."

The thing was, the lights weren't left on. At first, Richard thought nothing of it, loaded up her kids in another van and got them off to school.

"I got back, called my husband, 'Hey, the van won't start. Let's get some jumper cables,'" she recalled saying. "We pulled the smaller van over here to give it a jump."

And it wouldn't start. Once they popped the hood, the couple realized the battery was gone, along with some wiring and hoses.

"Ripped the wiring to the battery and managed to rip a piece of the starter," said Richard, who's now out almost $300.

A serious chunk of cash for the small business owner.

"Every penny counts, every dime counts. We don't have rainy day vandalism funds, you know, that just doesn't exist," she said.

The vehicle has since been repaired.

Police are asking if you know or spot the suspects to call Oklahoma City Crime Stoppers.
