OKLAHOMA CITY - Two people were arrested after leading Oklahoma City police on a high-speed chase on the city's south side early Wednesday morning.

At one point, police called off the chase because it was too dangerous.

However, officers in the area were still able to track down the vehicle.

The chase ended near S.W. 33rd and Brock Dr., and nearby residents say they are not surprised about the crime on their block.

"This is a horrifying neighborhood," Tracy Sparagowski said.

Around 3:45 a.m., officers were trying to pull a car over, near S.W. 51st and Douglas, when the driver took off.

The car reached speeds of approximately 90 miles per hour while trying to flee from police.

At that point, police called off the chase because it was too dangerous, but other officers in the area of Penn and Grand later spotted the car.

The alleged suspect pulled over and bailed out of the car. The driver eventually surrendered to police and was arrested.

The female passenger, however, hid underneath a truck nearby. She was found by K-9 officers and was bit during the arrest.

Sparagowski said she's not surprised by what happened in her front yard, and is begging for changes in her neighborhood.

"I've called OG&E to get more lighting out here. I've called the drug task force and told them that it's heavy traffic out here. I've told them there's elderly. I've told them I'm terminally ill and I'm afraid because I'm alone," said Sparagowski.

A cry for help to feel safe in her home.

"We need more police to be coming through and checking on us because it's almost all elderly," said Sparagowski.

Police said two other suspects are still on the run.
