NORMAN, Okla.– Three off duty officers were recognized on Facebook for their act of service for a member of their community.

According to the City of Norman Police Department’s Facebook, Officer McKenna, Officer Hays, and Officer Stevenson spent their day off cleaning up the property of an elderly resident who could not keep up with caring for his 3 acres.

They spent a day brush hogging, mowing, and removing tall weeds from property in the Oklahoma heat.

The department’s Facebook post said they were “proud to share” a status recognizing the “three officers whose service to the community goes well beyond the hours they spend wearing the uniform”.
