OKLAHOMA CITY – Thinking Game Five was a lost cause – the Thunder were down seven points to the L.A. Clippers with 50 seconds to play – hundreds of frustrated Thunder fans began exiting Chesapeake Energy Arena.

“A lot of standing around on offense,” one sad fan said. “Broken hearts right here.”

“No defense. We can’t play defense,” another fan moaned.

“I don’t think we’ve been consistent,” a fan said walking to her car, “and so I think that’s why we’ve lost.”

Even the Twitter world gave up on OKC:

“It’s safe to say the Thunder are done in six without a miracle here.”

“This game is over. OKC offense is absolutely a mess.”

“Bout to give up on the Thunder.”

But before getting on a plane to L.A. Wednesday, head coach Scott Brooks had a message for those fans.

“I think the fans that left probably made a mistake,” he said. “We never quit.”

That attitude is why Kevin Durant hit a three pointer – then made a layup on a fast break.

Russell Westbrook then capped a 38 point night with three clutch free throws after getting fouled on a three-point attempt.

The Thunder stole the ball from Chris Paul to pull off the miracle – winning 105-104.

One Twitter fan didn’t see it, but had a premonition:

“I dreamed the Thunder came back and won last night and then I met Russell Westbrook at Wendy’s.”

Another tweet: “Wait, the Thunder came back and won?”

“All of a sudden, I’m hearing people screaming,” one fan said after leaving Chesapeake Arena before the Thunder rally. “I look on my phone and we won.”

“If you pay for playoff tickets, you gotta stay for the whole game. You just gotta be there,” another fan said.

“Definitely a miracle. We deserve it.”

The Thunder take a 3-2 series to L.A. for Game Six Thursday night.
