OKLAHOMA CITY--Just one day after the Thunder returned from the playoffs in Miami, they reflected on their season and their goals for next year.

But during their final media interviews of the season, they also took time to express appreciation to the fans for their role in the season.

Thousands showed up at Will Rogers World Airport as the players returned home from Miami.

On Saturday, the players told fans how much that meant.

"To see the people yesterday after we got off the plane was something I can't even explain, tearjerking, if I can use that term.  But it was just it was just amazing to see how many people support us, especially after a loss.  In most cities, that wouldn't happen," said Kevin Durant.

"They welcome you with open arms regardless what happens, they support you.  So it was tough, but at the same time, happy to be back and happy they were here to support us," said Russell Westbrook.

The Thunder coach said he was proud of his players for gracefully accepting the cheers, even when they didn't feel great after their loss.  And he was equally proud of the fans.

"You know you have an amazing place, an amazing group of fans that will come out the way they came out in the middle of the day.  The weather was not ideal to stand out and two or three hours of waiting for our players to arrive.  But our players really appreciate what our fans give us every night," said Scott Brooks.

Coach Brooks says it's a give and take; players give effort and teamwork and fans reciprocate with support and cheers.  A great combination that has this team thankful to be a part of Oklahoma City.

"It's just a blessing to play for such a great city.  And hopefully I can be here for as long as I can," said Durant.
