Today’s college freshmen started kindergarten on 9-11; You might be surprised how they see the world

BELOIT, Wis. –  Beloit College in Wisconsin has done it again, this time it’s for the Class of 2018.

Every year the school releases its ‘Mindset List’ to show how the incoming freshman class sees the world.

Most students starting college for the first time this fall were born in 1996, and started kindergarten on 9-11.

Tupac Shakur, JonBenet Ramsey, Carl Sagan, and Tiny Tim were never alive during the lifetime.

There are  55 items on this year’s version of Beloit College’s “Mindset List.

Here are some more highlight for students entering college this fall in the Class of 2018, according to Beloit College.

They were in kindergarten on the day of the 9/11 terror attacks.


“The Daily Show” and “Everybody Loves Raymond” both premiered the year they were born.


“Press pound” on the phone is now translated as “hit hashtag.”


Joe Camel has never introduced one of them to smoking.


They have no memory of George Stephanopoulos as a senior White House advisor.


They have probably never used Netscape as their web browser.
