Tornado victims remembered: Deanna Ward

Deanna Ward, 70, died in the Moore tornado Monday.

Her family said she and her son took shelter in her home’s closet a block from Plaza Towers elementary school.

Her son survived.

The family said Deanna was a retired nurse.

They said they didn’t have enough time to get her in the car and leave the area so they took cover in a closet.
