The Marine Corps Reserve is now taking applications from families for their Toys for Tots holiday toy giveaway.

Parents or guardians can fill out applications at 108 S. Independence in Enid. This is just south of Security National Bank. Items parents need to bring with them to apply for assistance are a photo ID of themselves, proof of household income, proof of residence (utility bill or rent receipt) in Garfield, Grant, Kingfisher, Major or Noble counties and a birth certificate or school ID for each child.

Donation boxes will be placed at over 100 locations throughout Enid over the next month. All boxes should be in place by November 1st, 2013. Donations should be new unwrapped toys for newborns up to high school students. If you would like to make a monetary donation you can mail checks to Toys for Tots in care of Larry Wheeler, local coordinator, 108 S. Independence, Enid, OK 73701. All donations are 501 (c) (3) tax deductible.

In addition to the donation sites a golf tournament will be held October 19th at the Pheasant Run Golf Club. Entry for green and cart are $60 and the tournament is limited to 25 teams. Individuals are encouraged to sign up for placement on a team. Deadline for signup will be October 17th.

If you wish to volunteer services or participate in the golf tournament please contact Larry Wheeler at (580) 548-6116. Volunteers are currently needed for all phases of the project.
