Overturned semi on I-44 EB near Penn slows traffic

OKLAHOMA CITY- An overturned semi shut down part of I-44 EB near Penn Saturday.

Traffic was down to one lane for much of the afternoon and early evening.

The eastbound I-44 ramp from Penn was closed for much of the afternoon and evening but is re-open as of 8:00 PM.

Oklahoma City Fire Department says the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A hazardous materials unit was dispatched as a precaution. The truck was not carrying hazardous material according to the fire department but electronic equipment.

About 5 gallons of fuel did spill onto the highway.
