Trooper’s badge stops bullet during shootout

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – A trooper is lucky to be alive following a shootout with a suspect early Friday morning in southeast Las Vegas Valley.

According to KSNV, a trooper pulled over a vehicle with three people inside when one man jumped out of the car.

At some point, the man opened fire on the trooper, hitting him in the chest.

Amazingly, he wasn’t injured because the bullet was deflected by his badge.

The shooter was killed. The two other people at the traffic stop were detained for questioning.
