OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City say they discovered a loaded gun in a passenger’s carry on bag.

The firearm, which contained two rounds, was discovered early Thursday morning during a screening by TSA agents.

The Oklahoma City Police Department interviewed the passenger and took the gun before allowing the passenger to board a flight.

“This is a good opportunity to remind passengers that firearms of any kind–as well as ammunition, firearm parts, and realistic replicas–are prohibited at TSA security checkpoints,” said TSA spokesperson Carrie Harmon. “These items are allowed in checked bags, if unloaded, declared to the airline, and properly packed in a locked, hard-sided container.”

This is the seventh firearm discovered at a checkpoint in Oklahoma City this year.

Since Jan. 1, TSA has also intercepted four stun guns and 800 rounds of ammunition.
