EAST TULSA – Police say that two children found their mother’s body inside of her SUV.

According to KJRH, the children told police they knew their mother had friends at the Stonecrest Apartment complex and noticed her car in the parking lot.

They say the children, ages 10 and 14, saw their mother’s body in the back part of the SUV, where she was covered up with blankets, KJRH reports.

According to police, the children were with their father for a couple of days before being dropped off Friday night.

Police have identified the victim as 34-year-old Michelle Spence.

She was found with some signs of trauma to her body, but no obvious wounds that would cause death.

The Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of the death.
